This one is for Michelle!
I know Michelle will appreciate this story. When we shop here at Sobeys, you are automatically entered in a bunch of contests. I never pay any attention to that since I never win. Well today I got a call from Sobeys in Greenwood and they said that I won (for using my Airmiles card) a 6 piece serving set. I thought it was pots and pans, and Gary thought perhaps it was a set of utencils - you know the soup ladle and egg flipper, etc. Since it was a Campbells soup contest, I thought he might be right. However, when I stopped in to pick them up - imagine my surprise when I saw a 6 pience Le Creuset set. Now, the only time I have ever heard of Le Creuset is when Michelle mentioned it on her blog and I looked them up - pretty fancy and expensive stuff! That box is so heavy I couldn't carry it to the car. I was so excited. I just looked this set up on the internet and it seems the value is between $600 and $700 US! Wow. Gary is excited thinking this is the first in a winning streak for me - start buying the lotto tickets!

Yesterday friends Karen and Nancy and I went Frenchy shopping and out for lunch to celebrate Karen's retirement (at 51!). Karen has been a public health 'baby nurse' for 25 years. Karen spends many of her new retirement hours with me at the gym - we can be found working out 4 or 5 times a week. Until I saw this pic I really didn't realize what a shorty I am - jeez - I guess I'm like Dad - he said he never 'felt short'!
So we had lunch at this quaint restaurant called 'Chez Christophe' and check out the coconut cream pie - it's huge! . . . and delicious! I think it takes about 30 minutes on the Eliptical trainer to work this off!
This afternoon I had Aaron over for a play date. What a beautiful day for tobogganing - nice and sunny and a little coat of ice on top of the snow. Aaron and family head off to Germany on Sunday for 5 weeks.

Goodbye winter, hello sun and sand!
Well we did it! Gary & I booked a trip to Punta Cana in the Dominion Republic for 7 idealic days in the sun! We leave on Monday, March 9th and return the following Monday. We have just had our 8th major snow storm and we are so sick of this weather - can't wait to bake in the sun!
On other news, Brenton has decided to graduate early as he had enough credits so, as of Feb. 2nd he started a job at Convergys - an incoming call centre for Sprint here in Cornwallis. He's hoping to make some big bucks in the next 7 months to finance his move to the big city in the fall. Congratulations B! He will, of course, have his official gradutation and prom in June.
Does anyone want to see another picture of our snow - no, I guess not!
